Robert Dean Stebbins, MD, spent the year from 1999 to 2000 as a Research Associate with California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. The medical center is one of the largest nonprofit and private academic centers in California, with a research institute that helps physicians discover new medical innovations. As a Research Associate, Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins focused on the study of glutamine supplements and therapy with tin mesoporphyrin in infants of low birth weight. He collected physical, biochemical, and social data from a sample group of 200 infants across the nation. Additionally, Dr. Robert D. Stebbins fulfilled the role of Research and Development Consultant at CardioSynopsis, Inc., from 1997 to 1998.

An expert in hematology and oncology, Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins has published articles relating to the fields. His studies were featured in publications including The Journal of Clinical Investigation and The Journal of Biological Chemistry. Dr. Stebbins focused on topics such as chromosomes in leukemia, the enzymatic formation of formaldehyde, and serum tumor markers. In addition to conducting research, Dr. Robert D. Stebbins has passed along his knowledge as a instructor at various institutes, including the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and the Stanford University School of Medicine, where he earned the Russell V. Lee Award for Clinical Teaching.

Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins earned his MD from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine and then completed an internship in straight medicine there. Continuing at USC, Dr. Stebbins finished a residency in internal medicine and then became a staff physician in the same field. To further his expertise, Dr. Robert D. Stebbins accepted a Research Associate position in pathology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and stayed in New York as an Assistant Attending Physician at Harlem Hospital Center. Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins became a postdoctoral fellow in hematology at the New York University School of Medicine. He also served as a Visiting Physician at Goldwater Memorial Hospital and held an oncology fellowship at Yale University.
